Not sure I would consider the use of a gospel choir by white musicians "icky". Did you see Heart perform Stairway To Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin? The use of a gospel choir there added new depths of meaning to the song. Same with U2 and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
