Rob - so sorry you had to miss this one. love your review, though, as always.

you were mentioning in the 11.02 article that you wondered what had to go on behind the scenes in order to accomplish the Dark Side set. On youtube you can check out a rarely known interview of Trey and Mike from 6.28.2000, where they briefly dive into that very subject around the 29th minute. trey says they sent a runner to fetch a cd of the album (unclear if it was for them or for Paul). i imagine you will also find the rest of the interview interesting as well, assuming you havent seen it before (maybe a bad assumption?).

keep up the great work!

There are few Phish-related non-tragic mishaps I’m more sympathetic to than the one that got away. Since misery loves company, I’ll offer my worst. I scored a pair of 8th row center tickets for 7/29/03 Star Lake but bailed because I couldn’t get off of work at all that week from a job I hated (I could — and did — swing a day trip from NYC to Camden, but Burgettstown wasn’t possible), and had to save my I’m-too-sick-to-come-in call for that Friday’s drive up to Limestone.

Even with how great 7/30 and IT ended up being, it took me a damned long time to listen to 7/29 without wanting to throw the speaker against the wall. At least you did it for the best reasons; I did it for a job I moved from within a few months.
